TikTok for Artists is the platform's official analytics and promotion hub for musicians. To claim your profile, you need music distributed to TikTok through an approved distributor, then verify your identity by linking your Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists account. The process can take several weeks, and there is no follower requirement.
Once certified, you gain access to daily-updated analytics dashboards, the Pre-Release tool for promoting upcoming albums, and the Artist Tag badge that distinguishes your profile from regular accounts. These features help music professionals track how their catalog performs on TikTok and plan releases more strategically.
What TikTok for Artists Provides
TikTok launched TikTok for Artists globally in June 2025 after a limited beta (see TikTok Newsroom: TikTok for Artists, the new all-in-one music insights platform). The platform consolidates music insights, promotion tools, and profile management into a single dashboard available at artists.tiktok.com.
Analytics dashboards display daily-updated data on your music and post performance. You can see how each song is being used, including video creation volume, total views, and engagement trends. The platform compiles data down to the song level, so you can identify which tracks are driving user-generated content.
Audience demographics break down your followers by age, gender, language, and location. This information helps teams plan geo-targeted campaigns and understand which markets respond most to specific releases.
Pre-Release tool allows you to promote an upcoming album directly on TikTok. Fans can pre-save the release to their Spotify or Apple Music library right from TikTok. Feature availability and requirements change, so treat this as “check in the dashboard,” not a guaranteed capability.
Artist Tag displays a badge on your profile that signals official artist status. This visual indicator builds credibility and helps the algorithm recognize your account as a legitimate music creator.
Requirements for TikTok Artist Certification
Before applying, you must meet these prerequisites:
| Requirement | Details |
|---|---|
| Music on TikTok | At least one release delivered to TikTok through a digital distributor |
| Active TikTok account | A personal or creator account in good standing |
| Identity verification | Access to Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists to prove ownership |
| Matching artist name | Your TikTok profile name should match your artist name in distributor metadata |
There is no minimum follower count to claim your artist profile. The verification process confirms that you are the legitimate owner of the music in TikTok's library, not that you have reached a specific audience threshold.
Note Your distributor must submit your music to TikTok's music library before you can search for and claim your artist profile. If you cannot find your music, confirm with your distributor that TikTok delivery is enabled.
How to Claim Your TikTok for Artists Profile
The application process happens entirely within the TikTok mobile app. Desktop access is not available for the initial claim.
Open TikTok Studio and find Artist Hub Go to your TikTok profile and tap the three-line menu icon in the upper-right corner. Select TikTok Studio, then scroll to "More tools" and tap "Artist Hub" or "TikTok for Artists."
Start your application Tap the "Apply now" button. Enter your full artist name exactly as it appears on streaming platforms.
Search and select your profile Search for your artist profile in TikTok's music library. When you find yourself in the results, select your photo to confirm. If your music does not appear, wait a few days after your first release goes live.
Verify your identity Log in to your Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists account when prompted. This step confirms you are the rightful owner of the music catalog.
Submit supporting materials Take clear screenshots of your verified streaming platform dashboard showing your artist name and catalog. Upload these screenshots as additional proof if requested.
Wait for review TikTok will review your application and respond once the verification checks are complete. In practice, this can take several weeks.
Country Availability
Availability varies by country and can change over time. If you do not see Artist Hub / TikTok for Artists in TikTok Studio, your region may not be supported yet (or your app is out of date). Check back periodically as access expands.
Navigating the TikTok for Artists Dashboard
Once certified, you can access your dashboard at artists.tiktok.com or through the mobile app. The interface organizes information into several key sections.
Music tab displays all your tracks in TikTok's library, sorted by performance metrics. You can see which songs generate the most user-created videos and track engagement trends over time. This helps identify which catalog items resonate with TikTok's audience.
Audience tab provides demographic breakdowns including age ranges, gender distribution, and top countries/languages. Use this data to inform content strategy and paid advertising targeting.
Posts tab shows performance metrics for your own TikTok videos, including likes, shares, comments, and completion rates. Compare performance across different content types to understand what your audience responds to.
Pre-Release section (when available) lets you set up album pre-save campaigns. You can customize the promotional card that appears on TikTok and track how many fans save the release.
Team Access for Labels and Managers
TikTok for Artists supports multi-user access for artist teams. Label representatives, managers, and other team members can be granted access to the dashboard without needing login credentials for the artist's personal account.
To add team members:
- Access your TikTok for Artists settings
- Navigate to the team management section
- Enter the email addresses of team members
- Assign appropriate permission levels
This feature is particularly valuable for labels managing multiple artist rosters or management companies handling day-to-day promotional activities.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Artist Hub does not appear in TikTok Studio
This usually means your country is not yet supported. Alternatively, your app version may be outdated. Update TikTok to the latest version and check again.
Cannot find music in search
Your distributor may not have delivered to TikTok, or the delivery is still processing. Confirm TikTok is enabled in your distributor settings and wait 2-4 weeks after your release date.
Verification rejected
The most common cause is a name mismatch between your TikTok profile and your distributor metadata. Update your TikTok display name to match exactly, then reapply.
Application pending for over 30 days
Contact your distributor to check if they offer expedited processing. Some aggregators have direct relationships with TikTok that can accelerate the review.
Features Available Without Certification
Even before claiming your artist profile, you can access some promotional features through a standard TikTok account:
- Using your own music: If your tracks are in TikTok's library, anyone can use them in videos, and so can you
- Basic analytics: Creator accounts receive engagement data for their posts
- Spark Ads: You can authorize Spark Ads partnerships without artist certification
However, the full suite of music-specific analytics, the Pre-Release tool, and the Artist Tag badge require completing the certification process.
Next Steps After Certification
Once approved, immediately optimize your presence:
- Update your profile with current bio text, profile photo, and links to streaming platforms
- Review your catalog in the Music tab to understand which songs drive engagement
- Plan content using audience demographic insights to inform what resonates
- Set up Pre-Release campaigns for your next album if applicable
- Add team members so managers and label reps can monitor performance
