AI Music Distribution: Which Distributors Accept AI Music? [2026]

8 min read

Key takeaway

Most major distributors accept AI music as long as you own the rights and do not imitate real artists. The exceptions are TuneCore, which takes only music from fully licensed AI models, and CD Baby, which takes none.

Which stores reject AI music

A distributor accepting your track does not mean every store will get it. Three distributors publish stores and services they will not deliver AI music to; ✕ marks each one.

Store or service LANDR Amuse RouteNote
YouTube Content ID Not delivered Not delivered
Content recognition services Not delivered
Instagram and Facebook (Meta) Not delivered Not delivered
Amazon Music Not delivered
TikTok Not delivered
Deezer Not delivered
Pandora Not delivered
Qobuz Not delivered
Tencent Not delivered
Lissen Not delivered
Korean stores (Melon, Genie, Bugs, Flo, Vibe) Not delivered

DistroKid, UnitedMasters, Symphonic, and TuneCore publish no store exclusions for AI music, though DistroKid and UnitedMasters warn that stores can still reject or remove tracks under their own rules. Amuse describes its list as examples, so it may not be complete.

Missing Content ID and Meta matters more than it looks: they are how a song earns money when other people use it in YouTube videos, Reels, and Stories.

Does DistroKid accept AI music?

Yes DistroKid accepts music made with AI tools if you own all the rights. More detail in our guide to DistroKid's AI music rules.

  • Rights: You must own 100% of the rights, including the right to distribute what the AI tool produced.
  • Not allowed: Copying someone else's voice, likeness, or identity without permission; mass-generated spam.
  • Limits: No published monthly AI cap and no excluded stores.

Does UnitedMasters accept AI music?

Yes UnitedMasters distributes music made or assisted by AI if you hold the commercial rights.

  • Rights: With Suno and similar tools, you needed a paid plan when you made the track. Keep your receipts and creation dates.
  • Not allowed: AI voices of famous artists; beats that copy existing songs.
  • Limits: Uploads are unlimited, but large volumes of AI tracks can be flagged as spam.

"Upgrading afterward does not apply retroactively to tracks made on a free plan."

Does Symphonic accept AI music?

Yes Symphonic distributes fully AI-made and AI-assisted music once you disclose how AI was used.

  • Disclosure: At upload, say whether generative AI was used for the audio and the artwork.
  • Not allowed: Anything that impersonates or infringes on human-made work.
  • Royalties: AI-generated content cannot be copyrighted, so it earns no composition royalties (pricing FAQ).

"Whether your music or cover art is fully AI-generated or AI-assisted, we now require insight into how AI was used."

"We may be unable to approve content if we don't know where it has come from."

Does TuneCore accept AI music?

Licensed models only TuneCore takes AI music only from models trained on fully licensed data.

  • Rule: Applies to every generative AI tool used at any point in making the track.
  • Approved tools: Google's Flow Music so far; no full list is published.
  • Note: A paid plan with a commercial license does not qualify a track if the model was trained on unlicensed music.

"Music created using models that rely on unlicensed datasets is not eligible for distribution."

Does CD Baby accept AI music?

No CD Baby does not accept AI-generated music.

  • Rule: No exceptions for commercially licensed AI or for recordings that are only partly AI.
  • Enforcement: AI content found after delivery is removed, and repeated attempts can end the relationship.

"We cannot accept any AI-generated content, even if it's commercially licensed."

Which distributor is best for AI music?

It depends on what your release needs:

  • You release a lot: DistroKid and UnitedMasters publish no monthly AI cap. LANDR stops at 20 or 60 AI tracks a month.
  • You need YouTube Content ID or Instagram and Facebook: Avoid LANDR, Amuse, and RouteNote for AI tracks, since they do not deliver AI music there.
  • You made it with Suno or Udio: Check that your plan gave you commercial rights when you created the track (UnitedMasters requires a paid Suno plan at creation). TuneCore will not take it unless the model was trained on licensed data, and CD Baby will not take it at all.
  • You want to release AI covers: LANDR and Amuse reject them; check the policy before uploading anywhere else.
  • You want to spend nothing up front: RouteNote has a free plan open to everyone; Dynamoi is free to release once you are eligible.

Can you distribute AI music for free?

Two services here cost nothing to release. RouteNote has a free plan open to everyone: you keep 85% of royalties on it, or 100% on its paid plan. Dynamoi charges no annual or per-release fee, only a 10% commission, but distribution is by application for artists with 10,000+ monthly Spotify listeners. The others charge an annual or per-release fee. RouteNote's AI policy does not distinguish between plans, so expect the same review and store exclusions.

Before you upload

  1. Keep proof of your rights: save the AI tool's terms, your subscription receipt, and the date you made each track.
  2. Disclose honestly: answer the AI questions at upload. Several distributors use detection software, and undisclosed AI can get a release removed.
  3. Check the stores you need: if YouTube Content ID, Meta, or a specific store matters for your income, confirm the distributor delivers AI music there.
  4. Plan for listeners: distribution makes a song available; it does not bring people to it.

Sources and method

Last checked: 2026-10-16. Scope: AI acceptance rules, disclosure requirements, upload limits, excluded stores, and free-plan availability for the eight third-party distributors compared here, plus Dynamoi's own distribution terms. Method: Each fact was checked against the distributor's own help centre, policy blog, or pricing page, linked beside it. Third-party summaries were not used. Where a distributor publishes no limit or exclusion, the article says so rather than assuming there is none.

Policies change often, and no distributor guarantees that a specific track will be approved.
