TikTok's application steps list no follower minimum. Your music must already be in TikTok's library, and the visible Artist Tag has its own thresholds (see the comparison).
Artist Account, TikTok for Artists, Artist Tag and blue check
These four are often confused. They are separate things:
| What | Where | What it gives you | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Artist Account | TikTok app | Music Tab on your profile and artist profile tools | Apply in TikTok Studio → Artist Hub; feedback within 30 days |
| TikTok for Artists | artists.tiktok.com (web) | Song, post and follower analytics, pre-save campaigns, team access | Log in once your Artist Account is certified and your registered country is supported |
| Artist Tag | TikTok profile | Public label that marks you as an artist | Shown only with more than 4 songs on TikTok and more than 100 videos using them |
| Blue check | TikTok profile | Verified-account badge | Separate application with ID, in Settings and privacy → Account → Verification |

Before you apply
- Your music is in TikTok's music library. Your artist profile must show up when you search TikTok's music library, which happens once your distributor has delivered your music. If you can't find it, start with how to get your music on TikTok or why your music isn't showing up on TikTok.
- You can log in to a streaming or distribution account for that artist. TikTok asks for screenshots taken while logged in, such as Spotify for Artists, Apple Music for Artists or your distributor's dashboard.
- You are applying from the account you want to use as the artist account. The Music Tab and Artist Tag appear on the profile that applies.
How to apply for a TikTok Artist Account
These are TikTok's current steps (TikTok for Artists Help Center):
Open TikTok Studio In the TikTok app, go to your profile tab, tap the menu in the upper-right corner and select TikTok Studio.
Open Artist Hub Under More tools, tap Artist Hub (it may be labelled TikTok for Artists), then tap Apply now.
Find and claim your artist profile Enter your full artist name to search TikTok's music library. When the correct artist profile appears, tap Claim.
Upload proof of ownership Log in to the streaming platform or distributor you use and take screenshots that include the profile editing buttons. They must show you control the account. Make sure the artist name and album or track titles are visible.
Submit and wait Tap Submit. TikTok says you will get feedback within 30 days. Once approved, the Music Tab appears on your profile, and so does the Artist Tag if you meet its thresholds.
Note The application does not sign you in to Spotify for Artists or Apple Music for Artists. TikTok verifies ownership from the screenshots you upload, and requires the artist name and the album or track titles to be visible in them.
How to log in to TikTok for Artists
TikTok for Artists is available to certified artists whose registered country is one of these 31 (eligibility):
Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Egypt, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya and Finland.
To log in (account login):
- Go to artists.tiktok.com and choose whether you are the artist or an artist or label team member.
- Log in with your TikTok account.
- Connect a TikTok for Business account when asked. TikTok uses it only to provide analytics access and team permissions. Your in-app account stays an artist account and does not become a business account.
What TikTok for Artists shows you
At its June 2025 global launch, TikTok listed these dashboard features (TikTok Newsroom), with data updated daily:
- Song performance: views, posts and creator engagements for each track.
- Post performance: views, likes, comments, shares and completion rate for your own posts.
- Follower insights: self-declared gender, age and language.
- Pre-Release campaigns: promote an upcoming album and let fans pre-save it. Pre-saves work for Spotify and Apple Music only.
- Guides and support for TikTok's artist tools.
Use song performance to see which tracks are generating videos, then put more of your content and budget behind those songs. The TikTok Sound page optimization guide covers what to do with a track that's starting to move.
In-app artist features after approval
The certified account also unlocks tools inside the TikTok app (Music Tab):
- Music Tab: your catalog on your profile. Pin songs with the pin icon. To fix the catalog, report missing songs through TikTok's webform, or remove wrong songs from the Music Tab menu. TikTok says it processes removals within 7 working days.
- Highlight a new song: feature a release at the top of the Music Tab and manage its New tag (help).
- By artist: pin one of your own videos to a song with a "By artist" tag (help).
- Fan Spotlight: add fans' videos to your Music Tab. The creator is notified, and the video gets a "Spotlighted by Artist" tag (help).
- Behind The Song: post the story of a song using its official sound and #BehindTheSong. Getting it onto the music detail page goes through your label, your distributor or TikTok's artist partnership manager in your country (help).
- Collaboration posts: invite another account so a video shows on both profiles. TikTok says this is not broadly available yet (help).
Team access for managers and labels
Artists see all available data and can grant access to their teams. Label teams see data only for songs they hold rights to (data access). Roles and limits (access levels):
| Team | Roles | User limits |
|---|---|---|
| Artist team | Artist (full analytics, pre-save tools, manages users) · Admin (same, one only) · Editor (analytics and pre-save tools) · Reader (analytics only) | 1 artist, 1 admin, 20 editors and readers combined |
| Label team | Super Admin · Admin · Editor · Reader | Unlimited super admins (must be MediaMatch accounts), 100 admins, 1,000 editors and readers combined |
A label team's Super Admin must be a MediaMatch account.
Troubleshooting
You can't find your artist profile in the search. Your music isn't in TikTok's library yet, or it is mapped to the wrong artist. Check delivery with your distributor first.
You're approved but have no Artist Tag. This is expected until you have more than 4 songs delivered to TikTok and more than 100 videos using your songs (TikTok).
You can't log in to artists.tiktok.com. Check that your registered country is on the list above and that the TikTok account you're using is the certified one.
You want the blue check too. Apply separately in Settings and privacy → Account → Verification with your name, date of birth, country and an ID document. The account needs a profile photo, a bio and at least one post, and TikTok replies by email within 30 days (blue check).
Next steps
Once the dashboard shows which songs people are using, put your effort behind them. The TikTok organic growth strategy for artists covers posting, and Spark Ads for music covers paid boosts of your best-performing posts.
To send that TikTok attention to streaming, Dynamoi (our service) offers Smart Links. They route listeners from TikTok to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music or another destination and measure which platform each listener chooses. Dynamoi does not run TikTok ad campaigns.
