MCP Server
Client permissions
Which AI clients can make changes through the Dynamoi MCP server: Full access clients such as Claude, Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenClaw, Cursor, and VS Code, and Middle access clients such as ChatGPT.
Dynamoi gives every MCP client one of two tiers of access: Full access or Middle access. A client Dynamoi has not reviewed gets Middle access, whatever it asks for and whatever you approve, unless it signs in on your own computer.
Which tier a client gets
Dynamoi decides from the identity the client signs in with, never from the name or logo it shows:
| Client | Tier |
|---|---|
| Codex CLI, which signs in with a published chatgpt.com identity | Full access |
| Claude on the web or desktop (custom connector) and Claude Code, which sign in with a published claude.ai identity | Full access |
| OpenClaw (see setup) | Full access |
| Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, and any other app that signs in on your own computer | Full access |
| ChatGPT, and Claude added from the directory listing (their store policies do not allow purchases) | Middle access |
| Unreviewed web apps and any other client | Middle access |
An app signs in on your own computer when every sign-in return address it registers is on your computer (127.0.0.1, localhost, or [::1]) or is https://vscode.dev/redirect, and it does not use a device code. Device-code sign-ins get Middle access unless the client is one Dynamoi has reviewed.
Full access means the client can be granted everything the full tool catalog uses, including campaign launches, budget changes, and Shop checkout links that can spend from your plan's credit. Only approve apps you started yourself.
What Middle access clients can do
A Middle access client gets the directory tool set (24 tools). It can:
- Read the account overview, artists, campaigns, and campaign analytics.
- Read Smart Links, growth, playlist, audience, and YouTube channel data.
- Check Spotify, Meta, and YouTube connection status.
- Check distribution eligibility and application status, and submit a distribution application.
- Create Smart Links and update their descriptions, release settings, artist settings, and pixel IDs.
It cannot launch or change campaigns, change budgets, read billing, start Meta or YouTube connections, or get Shop estimates and checkouts. Those tools are not in its catalog, and the scopes they need are never granted to it.
Each tier sees its own tools
Full access clients see the full catalog of 38 tools, and Middle access clients see the directory catalog of 24. Every call still needs its OAuth scope, and your Dynamoi role must allow the action on that artist, campaign, or Smart Link. For changes a Middle access client cannot make, use the Dynamoi dashboard.
