Geographic Targeting

Choose global, specific-country, or exclude targeting for Smart Campaigns, and edit locations later on supported campaigns.

Smart Campaigns support country-level targeting. You choose how to target during campaign setup, and you can change targeting later on supported campaigns.

Create Smart Campaign wizard showing budget and targeting options

Targeting modes

The targeting control has three modes:

  • Global targets every available country.
  • Specific countries targets only the countries you include.
  • Exclude targets everywhere except the countries you list.

Meta Ads supports global and multi-country targeting. When a campaign delivers on Spotify Ads, that platform targets exactly one supported country, so multi-country selections apply to Meta only.

Selecting countries

  1. Choose Specific countries or Exclude Switch the targeting mode away from Global.

  2. Open the selector Click the country selector to open the picker.

  3. Choose countries Pick from the Popular list, or search by country name in Search countries.

Available countries

Country options come from the countries supported by both Meta and Google. When a campaign delivers on Spotify Ads, only the countries Spotify Ads supports are eligible for that platform.

Changing targeting later

You can edit targeting after a campaign launches. Open the Actions menu and choose Edit locations.

This is available only for Active or Paused Smart Campaigns created on or after January 6, 2026. For campaigns created before that date, the option is disabled and points you to support.
