How Campaign Funding Works

How Dynamoi pays for campaign budgets: credit first, then campaign funds, then your saved payment method, one day ahead, for daily and total budgets.

Last updated Oct 19, 202610 sections

Dynamoi funds every managed campaign one day ahead. Each day's budget is paid first from your campaign credit, then from your campaign funds, and only the remainder is charged to the artist's saved payment method. A launch or resume funds the rest of today plus all of tomorrow; after that, each next day is funded before it starts. Charges happen before the ads run for that day.

This applies to Smart Campaigns and YouTube campaigns run under a Dynamoi plan or promo credit. Shop orders are paid at checkout and are not funded this way. Plan prices and included credit are listed on Pricing.

Where the money comes from

Every funding amount is drawn in this order:

Order Source What it is
1 Campaign credit Credit included with your Starter or Plus plan, and promo credit from a Dynamoi promo invite. The credit that expires soonest is used first.
2 Campaign funds Money you added with Add campaign funds on the Billing page, plus unused budget carried forward from earlier funded days. The oldest funds are used first.
3 Saved payment method Whatever credit and campaign funds do not cover is charged to the artist's default payment method.

A day that credit and campaign funds fully cover creates no card charge. The Billing page shows each source as {amount} credit, {amount} carried forward, or {amount} charged.

When charges happen

Moment What Dynamoi funds
Launch The rest of today and all of tomorrow, in one payment
Resume The rest of today and all of tomorrow, in one payment. Each campaign resume is charged separately.
Every following day The next day, before it starts. Funding for several of an artist's campaigns can appear as one Campaign funding · # campaigns charge.
Budget increase on a running campaign The higher budget is funded before it takes effect

Today is funded as a full day's budget even when part of the day has already passed. The Billing page shows the next charge as {date}, then daily.

Daily budgets

A daily budget (Per day in the form) is funded at the daily budget amount, one day at a time, until you pause or end the campaign.

When you launch a daily-budget campaign, you accept this authorization:

Charge my default payment method daily for this campaign's budget, after my available credits, until I pause or end it.

The charge preview in the form shows how the first payment is split, for example {amount} now, today + tomorrow or Covered by credits today + tomorrow, then ~{amount} per day for each later day. When credit covers part of it, the preview shows {credits} covered by your credits · {card} from your card.

Total budgets

A total budget (Campaign total) is also funded one day at a time. Each day's amount is the budget still left divided evenly across the days left in the flight, rounded up. Funding never goes above the total budget and never continues after the campaign's last day.

For example, a total budget spread over 7 days funds about one seventh of the total each day. If a day uses less than it was funded, the remainder carries forward and later days are recalculated from what remains.

When you launch a total-budget campaign, you accept this authorization:

Charge my default payment method daily for this campaign, after my available credits, up to my total budget.

The preview shows the cap and last day as {amount} max, ends {date}. Launch and resume fund the rest of today and all of tomorrow, up to the total budget. Raising the total of a running campaign does not create an immediate charge for tomorrow; later days are paced from the new total.

Dynamoi does not charge for a campaign without your consent:

  • Create Smart Campaign requires the funding checkbox for both daily and total budgets before Submit for review is enabled.
  • Resume campaign asks again for daily-budget campaigns and for Meta total-budget campaigns with an end date. See Pausing and Resuming Campaigns.
  • A bulk resume does not accept consent for you. Campaigns that need it are skipped with Resume it on its own to review and accept its funding terms.

The Terms link next to the checkbox opens the Terms of Service section on automatic daily charges.

Unused funds

If a funded day isn't fully used, the remainder becomes campaign funds for later days, before any new card charge. Final amounts can take 1–2 days; until then the Billing page shows Finalizing — final amounts in 1–2 days, then Used {used} · {returned} carried forward.

Pausing a campaign stops new funding. Money already funded for the current day stays with that day, and any unused part is carried forward once results are final.

When a payment fails

If the next day cannot be funded, the campaign keeps running until its funded time ends and then pauses. The campaign shows the plain Paused status, and the Billing page explains why:

Billing message Meaning and fix
We'll try again on {date}. You can update your card now. The card was declined. Dynamoi retries automatically; you can update the card sooner.
Ads pause on {date} unless you update your card. Ads stop when the funded time ends unless the payment succeeds.
Confirm your campaign payment Your bank asked you to confirm the payment. Complete the confirmation.
{name} paused on {date} because the next day wasn't funded. The campaign paused because its next day was not paid.

A daily-budget campaign paused this way can restart automatically once the cause is fixed, for example after you add a different card or complete the bank confirmation. Automatic restart makes a limited number of attempts. If the campaign is still paused, resume it from All Campaigns.

Other cases:

  • Plan ending. Once a plan is set to end, the card is no longer charged. Campaigns run on remaining credit and campaign funds until those run out or the plan ends, then pause.
  • Plan payment failed. The plan itself must be paid first. Campaigns are paused until it is, and they show Subscription paused. See Troubleshooting Campaign Statuses.
  • Funds under review. Campaign funding needs review or Account credit needs review means support must check the account before another charge. Contact support.

Where to see funding

Open Account > Billing. The page shows:

  • Available credit, amounts carried forward, and when credit expires
  • Each campaign's budget, funding state (Funded, Not funded, Payment declined, Needs verification, Confirm payment, Paused by billing), and Funded through date
  • The next charge and the payment method on file
  • Daily budget use for the last 30 days
  • An activity list with Campaign funding charges, Campaign funds added, credits, refunds, and receipts

Use Add campaign funds to prepay an amount within the range shown; the payment opens in Stripe and the funds are added once the payment is confirmed. Campaign funds are used before your card.

Limits that still apply

Funding never raises a spending limit. Each artist's campaigns together must stay within the daily spending limit described in Spending Limits, and every budget must meet the minimums in Budgets & Targeting.
